Henry never imagined how much his life would change when he and his seven-year-old daughter, Sophie, moved to Los Angeles. He thought the biggest challenge would be adjusting to a new city and helping Sophie settle into her new school.

A Remarkable Resemblance
On Sophie’s first day of second grade, Henry tried to reassure her as they pulled up to the school.
“Are you excited, kiddo?” he asked.
Sophie hesitated, twirling the hem of her skirt. “What if no one likes me?”
Henry smiled, tucking a stray blonde curl behind her ear. “They will. Just be yourself. And remember, if someone’s mean, just walk away.”
She nodded, took a deep breath, and stepped out of the car.
As Sophie walked into her classroom, something unexpected happened. The students stared at her in surprise, their eyes darting between her and another girl sitting in the back. A boy suddenly exclaimed, “It’s Sandra’s twin!”
Sophie turned to see a girl who looked exactly like her—same blonde curls, same big brown eyes. It was like looking in a mirror.
Sandra stood up, eyes wide. “Wow! We look just alike!”
Sophie felt a strange sense of comfort. “Yeah… but how? I don’t have a sister.”
“Me neither! It’s just me and my mom,” Sandra replied. She grabbed Sophie’s hand. “Come sit with me!”
That day, the two girls became inseparable. And when Sophie got home, she couldn’t stop talking about Sandra.
Henry thought it was just an amazing coincidence—until he met Sandra’s mother.
