Rhys shared his experience with North Wales Live: “There was only a 50/50 chance of seeing the sunrise due to the cloud cover, but my friend and I decided to go up anyway.
He suggested I walk ahead since he was a bit slower, so I reached the summit around 8:15 am and started taking pictures of the sunrise. There were a few other people there as well.”
“It was about an hour later, when my friend reached the top, that we witnessed the Broken Spectre. The timing was perfect—it was just pure luck.”
While the phenomenon was indeed fortunate, it resulted in a truly spectacular photograph—a stunning way to welcome the year 2020.
