Beloved Actress Cindyana Santangelo Passes Away at 59

Cindyana Santangelo, a talented actress known for her standout roles in both television and film, has sadly passed away at the age of 59. Her unexpected passing occurred Monday evening in Malibu, California. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, emergency responders were called to her residence at approximately 7:15 p.m., and she was later transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Officials shared that Santangelo had recently undergone cosmetic procedures at home. While there are no indications of foul play, authorities have initiated a full investigation and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

Santangelo’s career began in 1989 with a role in the music video for Young MC’s “Bust a Move.” The following year, her unique voice was featured in the introduction to Jane’s Addiction’s hit “Stop.” She gained recognition for her role as Sierra Madre on Married… With Children, and later made memorable guest appearances on popular shows including CSI: Miami and ER.

Her film debut came in 1990 with The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, and she went on to star alongside Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett in the 2003 film Homicide. Praised by peers—Perry Farrell once referred to her as “the Latin Marilyn Monroe”—Santangelo left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.

Born in Manhattan and raised in California, Santangelo began pursuing acting at a young age. At 19, she earned a scholarship to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in London and later attended both NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
