Now 61, Michelle reflected on the transition from life in the public eye to a more private existence, explaining that the couple enjoys a quieter lifestyle away from constant media attention. “You just are not going to know what we’re doing every minute of the day,” she noted. “And yes, I guess we’re famous, but we’re 60—we don’t take selfies!”
She added with a laugh: “Barack was joking, he’s like, ‘You don’t even take pictures of anything we do.’ I was like, ‘I’m not thinking about a picture.’”
Michelle and Barack Obama met in 1988 while working at a law firm in Chicago. They have been married for over three decades and share two daughters, Malia and Natasha.
