Optional Garnish
- Chopped green onions
- Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguini noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.
Step 3: Sauté Aromatics
Add the ginger paste and minced garlic to the beef and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Step 4: Make the Sauce
Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine and allow the sugar to dissolve. Season with black pepper and optional red pepper flakes.
Step 5: Simmer to Thicken
Reduce heat to low and simmer the sauce for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and coats the beef nicely.
Step 6: Combine with Noodles
Add the cooked linguini noodles to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat each strand with the flavorful sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes to allow the noodles to absorb the sauce.
Step 7: Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds if desired.
Chef’s Tips
- Extra Flavor: Add a splash of rice vinegar or a teaspoon of sesame oil for a subtle depth of flavor.
- Vegetable Boost: Toss in julienned carrots, bell peppers, or snap peas for added color and nutrition.
- Noodle Alternatives: Egg noodles, udon, or spaghetti can be used in place of linguini for a slightly different texture.
