Margaret wasn’t openly confrontational. Instead, she made cutting remarks disguised as casual comments.

When she saw the engagement ring, she asked if it was “real or just lab-grown.” When Emily chose a beautiful venue, Margaret remarked that it was “too big for the number of guests.” Even Emily’s gown, which made her glow, was met with a comment that it “would look better on a different figure.”
