My Brother Refused to Return My Kids Lego Models After His Son Looted Them from My House, I Taught Him a Lesson

When my brother ignored my polite requests to return the LEGO dioramas his son had taken during a family dinner, I kept my cool. But after a month of excuses, I decided it was time for a little payback.

The chaos started innocently enough. During a family dinner, my brother Ben’s nine-year-old son, Jason, spotted one of our LEGO creations. Jason was so excited that he explored the house and found nearly all of our hidden dioramas by the end of the night.

As they left, Jason asked if he could take one home. Ben declined, but it wasn’t until hours later that we discovered the dioramas were missing. After searching the house, my youngest son, Max, declared, “It has to be Jason.”

I called Ben, and he brushed it off, saying, “Relax, I’ll bring them next time.” But the next time came and went, and the dioramas were never returned.

By Christmas, I knew Ben wasn’t planning to return anything, so I decided it was time for a lesson. At his New Year’s BBQ, I waited for the right moment. When I asked about the LEGO sets, Ben gave me the same excuse: “Next time, Carly.”
