“Jake,” she said sharply. “I saw everything.”
He tried to explain, but she didn’t let him. “You’re stealing from your own children to give to another woman’s son. That’s not love. That’s cruelty.”
Then she said something that made Jake freeze. “You’ve lost my respect, and now you’ve lost my inheritance. Every cent I have will go to Oliver and Mia. They’re the only ones who deserve it.”
Jake’s face turned pale. Without another word, he dropped the bag and stormed out.
Carla knelt down and hugged the children. “No one will ever take from you again,” she whispered.
And karma? It came fast. When Jake’s girlfriend found out he’d been cut out of his mother’s will, she left him — taking her son and his pride with her.
For the first time in years, Rachel felt peace — not the fragile kind that can be taken away, but the kind that comes when justice quietly does its work.
Sometimes, you don’t need revenge. Karma always knows the right time to show up.
