My Neighbor Egged My Car for Blocking the View of His Halloween Display – so I Prepared a ‘Surprise’ He Won’t Forget

The morning before Halloween, I opened my front door and froze. My car. Covered in egg yolks and toilet paper.

“Mommy… is the car sick?” my three-year-old whispered, eyes wide.

Hi, I’m Emily — 36, a full-time nurse, and a single mom to three incredible kids: Lily, Max, and Noah. Most mornings start before sunrise and end long after bedtime stories. Life isn’t glamorous, but it’s ours.

That day, I didn’t ask for drama. I just needed to park close to my house so I could carry a sleeping toddler and two bags of groceries without breaking my back. But apparently, that was enough to trigger my neighbor, Derek, into full-blown Halloween warfare.

The Neighbor Who Took Halloween Too Far

Derek lives two doors down. At first, his holiday decorations seemed fun — over-the-top, yes, but festive. Christmas lights, fog machines, animatronics — he made every holiday a spectacle. The kids loved it. Even little Noah squealed when the fog machine kicked in.

But one night, after a 12-hour shift and dragging three kids in pumpkin pajamas through the dark, I parked in the only open spot — right in front of Derek’s house.
