A new poll reported by The Hill shows that 74% of Americans oppose sending U.S. ground forces into Iran, while just 20% support it. Concern over escalation and memories of past Middle East conflicts appear to weigh heavily on public opinion. Lawmakers remain split: some push for stronger military action, while others warn it could spark a broader war.
Trump’s Approval Ratings Stay Divided
A recent Fox News poll shows Americans remain polarized over Trump’s overall performance. Nearly all Democrats (97%) disapprove of his presidency, while Republicans give him an 87% approval rating. Opinions are split on key issues:
- Immigration: 60% disapprove of ICE, 42% approve
- Border security: 52% approve, 48% disapprove
- Top national concerns: 50% cite cost of living, 18% government spending, 10% jobs, smaller percentages cite income inequality, tariffs, or taxes
Despite the controversy, the White House points out that Trump’s approval rating, 43.3%, remains higher than Barack Obama (42.5%) and George W. Bush (38.7%) at a similar stage in their second terms—despite what officials describe as “much tougher media coverage.”
As the Iran conflict continues to dominate headlines, Trump’s choices and the nation’s response could have a lasting impact on his political future.
