Obama Responds to Disturbing Video Shared About Him and Michelle

The video, posted Feb. 5, sparked bipartisan backlash. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tried to downplay the outrage, telling TMZ to focus on “something that actually matters to the American public.” Even members of Trump’s own party criticized the post. Republican Senator Tim Scott labeled it “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.”

Trump, 79, refused to take responsibility, claiming an unnamed staffer posted the video. “No, I didn’t make a mistake. I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine. I guess it was a takeoff on The Lion King and certainly a very strong post in terms of voter fraud,” he said.

Obama’s response went beyond the viral clip. He also addressed actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Trump administration, calling them “deeply concerning” and “dangerous.” He cited federal operations in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, highlighting agents pulling people from their homes, attempting to manipulate children, and using force against peaceful bystanders.

“The killing of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis is a heartbreaking tragedy and a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party,” Obama said. He emphasized that explanations from the administration “aren’t informed by any serious investigation” and stressed that the public must stay vigilant.

Reflecting on the nation’s values, Obama added, “The American people will ultimately decide how they feel about these actions when they head to the ballot box. People still believe in decency, courtesy, kindness. And we’re going to fight back, and we’re gonna push back with the truth.”

The former president’s comments come as the U.S. grapples with political polarization, social media controversies, and questions about accountability at the highest levels of government.
