Paul Newmans Daughter Passed Away At 72!

Susan Kendall Newman, the eldest daughter of Hollywood icon Paul Newman and his first wife Jackie Witte, has passed away at the age of 72. According to The New York Times, she died on August 2, 2025, following complications from chronic health conditions. Her life was one of quiet strength, creativity, and service — a legacy that reflected not fame, but purpose.

Born in 1952 in New York City, Susan grew up amid her father’s rising Hollywood fame but was never content to simply be “Paul Newman’s daughter.” She forged her own identity, pursuing acting, filmmaking, and philanthropy with determination and grace.

During the 1970s and 1980s, Susan appeared in a number of acclaimed films and television projects, including Slap Shot, A Wedding, and I Want to Keep My Baby!. Her performances were known for their authenticity and emotional depth. Yet, as her career evolved, she found her greatest fulfillment behind the camera — directing and producing socially conscious documentaries that explored issues such as women’s rights, addiction recovery, and public education.

Deeply inspired by her father’s humanitarian legacy, Susan devoted much of her life to community work and social advocacy. She championed causes close to her heart — from youth mentorship and child welfare to addiction treatment and the arts. Those who knew her described her as grounded, compassionate, and unwaveringly dedicated to helping others.
