James Carville Urges Ilhan Omar to Consider Leaving Democratic Party Amid Controversy
Democratic political strategist James Carville is once again making headlines for his outspoken criticism of progressive Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. During a recent appearance on the podcast Straight Shooter with Stephen A. Smith, Carville doubled down on his previous remarks, suggesting Omar might be better off leaving the Democratic Party.
Carville’s comments revisit a debate that has simmered within the party for years, highlighting the tension between establishment Democrats and the progressive wing, often represented by “the Squad.”
“Lady, why don’t you just get out of the Democratic Party,” Carville said bluntly. “Honestly, start your own movement.”
The strategist initially called for Omar to step away after a 2018 interview with Al Jazeera, in which she controversially stated, “our country should be more fearful of white men because they’re causing most of the deaths within this country.” Critics pointed out that while whites commit the highest number of murders in raw numbers, statistical data shows black males are six times more likely to victimize other blacks.
