The 41-year-old heir to the throne expressed gratitude to the public for their supportive messages during a charity gala dinner, marking the first time he publicly addressed his family’s health challenges. Earlier that day, he had overseen an investiture at Windsor Castle.
In a light-hearted tone, William remarked, “The past few weeks have been, medically speaking, quite intense, so I thought I’d attend an air ambulance function to take a break from it all.”
The event, attended by the queen, a former air ambulance pilot, provided an opportunity for her to meet fellow pilots and engage in conversations with celebrities like Tom Cruise.
Meanwhile, King Charles III is undergoing outpatient treatment for an unspecified cancer.
