Search continues for missing 3-year-old girl after devastating Texas floods — community remains hopeful

When heavy rains caused widespread flooding in rural Texas earlier this month, communities faced immense challenges—washed-out roads, damaged homes, and urgent rescue efforts. In the midst of the storm, a deeply concerning report emerged: a 3-year-old girl had gone missing near the Guadalupe River.

As search teams and volunteers combed the area, hope remained, even as conditions worsened.

Then, against all odds, something incredible happened.

Several hours after she was reported missing, the young girl was discovered miles from where she was last seen—cold and wet, but safe, beneath the remains of a small collapsed shed. And she wasn’t alone.

Curled beside her was a medium-sized dog, unknown to the family and unfamiliar to the local community. Covered in mud and clearly exhausted, the dog had stayed close to the child, offering warmth and comfort during the frightening hours she was lost.

Rescue workers noted that the dog had likely guided the girl to shelter and remained by her side throughout the night. Its paw prints formed a protective circle around her, a quiet testament to its vigilance.
