Former U.S. President Donald Trump left observers puzzled on Tuesday after appearing at a White House press event with what appeared to be makeup covering a mark on his hand.
The makeup seemed to be concealing a raised, circular area of skin that some suspect his team may have tried to hide from public view.
While no official explanation was provided, medical experts reviewed video footage and offered their insights to Daily Mail.
“It’s most likely a bruise on his hand that they’re attempting to conceal,” said Dr. Boback Berookhim, a New York-based urologist and men’s health specialist.
“It could be from a blood draw, an insect bite, or even from accidentally bumping his hand against something,” Berookhim added.
That small raised area, which sometimes follows a blood draw, is a minor histamine response to the needle’s micro-trauma—typically fading within hours. However, it can sometimes result in more noticeable bruising in older adults due to naturally thinner and more fragile blood vessels.
