Building a dream home is something many people imagine, but few actually take the leap—especially when it involves doing things a little differently. Will Breaux, a Houston resident, is one of those rare individuals who brought his vision to life in a bold and unconventional way: by constructing his home entirely out of shipping containers.
Without a traditional background in construction or architecture, Will took on the challenge himself. When he couldn’t find an architect who shared his unique vision, he decided to design and build the home on his own. The result? A striking 2,600-square-foot, three-story residence made from 11 repurposed shipping containers—right in the heart of Houston, Texas.
Located on McGowen Street, the home stands out for its modern industrial design and eco-conscious structure. With a sleek, contemporary look, it offers a sharp contrast to the more traditional homes in the area. One of the standout features is a spacious rooftop deck—perfect for unwinding or enjoying views of the city skyline.
Inside, the home is equally impressive. The first floor includes a cozy media room, a guest bedroom, a versatile studio, and a thoughtfully designed bar area. Each space reflects Will’s careful planning and design sense. Though the upper levels are still a work in progress, they already hint at the creativity and style that will define the entire home.
