Outside of this hobby, however, the couple’s interactions are mostly limited to public appearances and expected engagements. Another insider commented, “There is little interaction between them—just what is expected—then they go back to doing their own thing.”

Even during high-profile events, the separation is noticeable. At the Congressional Ball in December, Donald seemed unaware of Melania’s recent initiatives at the White House. When she briefly mentioned a “new legislative initiative,” he responded, “Well, I just heard about that for the first time. I don’t know what it is she’s doing, but I know it’s going to be great for children.”
