Phil Donahue, the iconic U.S. talk show host, has passed away at the age of 88. His family announced that Donahue died peacefully at home on Sunday after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones.
Known as the “king of daytime talk,” Donahue created and hosted The Phil Donahue Show, which became a major part of television history.
Over nearly 30 years, he hosted more than 6,000 episodes, interviewing notable figures such as Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali, and Dolly Parton.
