“Good afternoon. My son gave you a Valentine a few days ago. I know this is a strange request, but… that Valentine is really important to me. I’d like to have it back.”
I turned, and my heart stopped.
“Jason?”
His eyes widened. “Annie… I can’t believe it.”
I managed a shaky smile. “Turns out, it wasn’t just a coincidence.”
He let out a breath. “I wanted to find you, but I wasn’t sure if you’d remember me.”
I swallowed hard. “I never forgot you.”
Jason smiled, the same smile I had fallen for all those years ago.
Maybe, just maybe, our story wasn’t over after all.
