After a courageous battle with bone cancer, he passed away peacefully on Saturday in a hospice in Kent, England, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in London in 1944, he began his dancing career at the age of 19, quickly rising to prominence as a professional dancer.
His expertise and charisma eventually led him to television, where he became the head judge on the British version of the show. He held that role until 2016, when Shirley Ballas succeeded him.
