What Sparked the Uproar?
The controversy began during Omar’s interview with the progressive outlet Zeteo. She suggested that public narratives surrounding Kirk were overly sanitized, claiming many were ignoring his past statements and behavior.
Omar argued that some political groups were “using his death to push an agenda,” a comment that immediately stirred backlash from opponents who accused her of politicizing a sensitive moment.
