But in a moment that no one could have predicted, an individual opened fire from a nearby rooftop. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of retired fire chief Corey Comperatore, a devoted supporter who had attended with his family. Two others were injured before law enforcement swiftly intervened to prevent further harm.
