A Heartbreaking Act of Forgiveness

Taking the stage, Erika stunned the crowd by publicly forgiving her husband’s alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

“My husband, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life,” she said through tears. “I forgive him. I forgive him because it is what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do.”

She vowed to continue Charlie’s mission as the new head of Turning Point USA, adding:

“The answer to hate is not hate. The answer, as we know from the gospel, is love—love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”
