After losing her husband of 25 years, Janet was heartbroken. The grief weighed heavily on her, and although two months had passed since Thomas’s burial, the pain in her heart was still raw.
Her sons, Eric and Brad, couldn’t bear to see their mother so sad. One evening, they sat down with her and gently asked about places she’d always dreamed of visiting. Janet smiled faintly and pulled out an old photo album, pointing to a picture of a bridge.
“I met your dad here,” she said through tears. “It was our favorite place to walk and watch birds. I wish I could go back there, just once.”
The very next day, Eric and Brad surprised their mother with a plane ticket to that exact destination.
“But it’s so far,” Janet said, holding the ticket with trembling hands. “Are you sure I should go alone?”
“Trust us, Mom,” Brad reassured her. “This trip is just what you need.”
With mixed emotions, Janet packed her bags and left two days later. Little did she know, her sons had something very special planned for her while she was away.
