Karoline Leavitt, 28, is expecting her second child—and her holiday Instagram announcement did more than reveal a pregnancy. The former White House press secretary stunned followers when she publicly praised Donald Trump, prompting one fan to ask bluntly, “Is it Trump’s?”
Leavitt, who made history as the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary, shares her 18-month-old son, Nicholas “Niko” Riccio, with husband Nicholas Riccio, 60. The couple became engaged during the 2023 holiday season and welcomed Niko on July 10, 2024.
Back to work just days after giving birth
Leavitt made headlines soon after Niko’s birth for cutting her maternity leave short following the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
“I had just brought my three-day-old baby home from the hospital,” Leavitt told The Conservateur in October 2024. “I looked at my husband and said, ‘Looks like I’m going back to work.’ I felt compelled to be present in this historic moment. The president literally put his life on the line to win this election. The least I could do is return to work quickly.”
