What Whoopi Goldberg Said About Alleged Past Links to Jeffrey Epstein

Hollywood icon Whoopi Goldberg has finally spoken out amid a storm of rumors suggesting she once had a personal relationship with the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The 70-year-old, renowned for her career in film, television, and stage, addressed the claims directly during a recent episode of The View, setting the record straight about what the newly unsealed Epstein court files actually reveal.

Goldberg’s name appears in several documents connected to Epstein, and online speculation quickly spiraled into claims that she had a close personal connection with him. On the show, she addressed the controversy head-on. “In the name of transparency, my name is in the files. Yes. And what does it say? The email, dated 2013, was related to a charity event run by Julian Lennon. It simply noted that someone was trying to arrange travel for Goldberg, possibly via Epstein, but it never implied a friendship, romance, or any personal relationship.

“I wasn’t his girlfriend, I wasn’t his friend,” Goldberg clarified. She went further, noting that she never flew on Epstein’s private plane and that the rumors circulating online were baseless. With her characteristic humor, she added that her fear of flying makes such claims highly unlikely. Her co-host, Joy Behar, summed it up with a pointed observation: “So in other words, anyone can be on this list.” Goldberg nodded, frustrated by the spread of false narratives. “People actually believe that I was with him. It’s like, ‘honey, come on,’” she said.
