I never imagined I’d be raising my child alone. When I married Daniel, I dreamed of a life filled with love and stability. But just weeks after our son Jeremy was born, everything changed. One morning, I woke to find his side of the closet empty, his phone off, and no trace of him. Soon after, I learned he had left the country and started a new life with someone else.

The heartbreak was overwhelming, but I knew I had to be strong—for Jeremy. With the support of my mother, I returned to work, rebuilt our life, and slowly, healing began. In time, peace returned to our home.

Then I met Sam.

We crossed paths at a coffee shop when my card failed, and he kindly offered to pay for my drink. That small act of kindness led to conversations, dates, and eventually, a relationship. Sam knew I had a son and said he loved children. When Jeremy warmed up to him, I truly believed we were building something special.

We married a year later, and for a while, life felt stable again.
