In addition to the status update, Lt. Weisner noted that Ms. Sanford had been taking selfies while driving, according to her social media accounts.
“In a matter of seconds, a life was lost just so she could notify some friends that she was happy. It’s really not worth it,” he said.
“Even though it is tragic, it serves as a somber reminder for everyone—you just need to pay attention when driving.”
John Wallace Thompson, 73, was driving the truck involved in the collision and was unharmed, according to police.
