John smiled gently and replied, “I do know, my love. But I want to introduce you to him at the reception.”
Jennifer pressed him further, explaining how much that seat meant to her. Finally, John revealed the surprise he had planned. “His name is Dave, and he was the recipient of Rowley’s heart,” John said softly. “Honey, you literally had your son’s heart right where you planned for him.”
Jennifer was stunned. “Are you serious?” she asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Yes, darling. It was my surprise for you. Dave is here with his mother, and they’ve been wanting to meet you. I wanted you to have a part of Rowley at the wedding, and this was the best way I could think of,” John explained.
