In a sad turn of events, champion bodybuilder Andre Cavalcanti lost his life in a car accident in Brazil. The incident occurred on the BR-369 road between Ibiporã and Jataizinho. Cavalcanti, aged 34, was struck by a 17-year-old driving without a license, resulting in the immediate death of the accomplished athlete.
According to Vitor Dutra, the chief of police in the area, the accident happened when the teenager, who had taken the car without his parents’ knowledge, crashed into Cavalcanti’s motorcycle. The teenager’s parents were unaware that their son had taken their vehicle for a drive with two other minors, aged 15 and 17. Following the crash, the teenagers were taken to the hospital for treatment. Due to the seriousness of the incident, the 17-year-old driver might face significant legal consequences.
The global bodybuilding community mourned the loss of Andre Cavalcanti, a renowned figure in the sport. The International Federation of Bodybuilders for the state of Paraná expressed their sorrow on social media, stating, “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our PRO SUPPORT athlete, Andre Cavalcanti, died this morning in a motorcycle accident. He was so young and had so many plans for his life.
We pray that God will comfort his family as they hear about this terrible event. People will always remember André as the honest and devoted person he was. He was a great athlete, friend, and partner. We’ve lost a lot here on Earth, but Heaven has something nice for us. Let us pray to Our Father for him, sure that God will forgive him and that eternity will last forever.”
