New York City is buzzing with excitement after Zohran Mamdani was confirmed as the city’s next mayor, following a landslide win in the 2025 election. At just 34 years old, Mamdani is set to be the youngest NYC mayor in over a century — and the first Muslim and first South Asian to hold the office.
Mamdani outpaced every other candidate, including Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa, with a commanding vote total that left the city and nation talking.
A Historic Victory
At his election night rally outside Brooklyn Paramount, Mamdani celebrated New York’s immigrant roots:
“New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant.”
He didn’t stop there — directly addressing President Donald Trump, Mamdani delivered four bold words that instantly went viral:
“Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up!”
