Trisha Yearwood kicked off the holiday season in style on Wednesday, December 3, taking center stage as the host of NBC’s Christmas in Nashville. Set inside Luke Combs’ iconic Category 10 Bar, the festive special brought a full dose of Music City magic, blending performances, collaborations, and classic Christmas cheer.
The star-studded lineup included Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, Lauren Alaina, Ne-Yo, The War and Treaty, and Trace Adkins, creating one of the most eclectic and unforgettable holiday broadcasts of the year.
Yearwood’s Playful Take on a Holiday Classic
Trisha stole the show with her spirited rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”. Originally written for the 1966 animated classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Yearwood’s soulful, upbeat version brought a fresh, festive twist that delighted fans.
The timing couldn’t have been better. Last month, she released her new holiday album, Christmastime, featuring her studio take on “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” alongside timeless favorites like “Candy Cane Lane” and “Blue Christmas.” The album also introduces an original track, “Merry Christmas, Valentine”, a heartwarming collaboration with her husband and fellow country star, Garth Brooks.
