Parents often go to great lengths for the well-being of their children, sacrificing much to help them grow into respectful individuals with good manners. Unfortunately, children don’t always recognize these efforts.
One father turned to Reddit to ask if he was too harsh with his 12-year-old son after hearing him yell at his mother for not doing his laundry.
The boy had expected his mom to wash and iron his clothes. When she didn’t, he got angry and started yelling. The father explained that both he and his wife juggle household chores and full-time jobs.
When the mother went to Mexico for a weekend with friends, the father saw an opportunity to teach his son a lesson. He taught the boy how to do his own laundry and assigned him the responsibility of cooking for his younger brother and doing other household chores.
After a day, the boy complained that it was too much. The father reminded him that his mom handles these tasks daily while working full-time.
