Chris, an 18-year-old market worker, was accustomed to the lively sights of the bustling marketplace, including the occasional street animals. But one dog stood out: a Shiba Inu named Ollie. Unlike the strays, Ollie was clean, well-mannered, and carried an air of determination. Each day, Chris noticed him sitting outside a closed bike shop, gazing intently at the glass windows.
Curious, Chris asked his coworkers about the dog and learned that Ollie’s owner, the bike shop owner, had vanished weeks ago. The thought of such a loyal dog being left behind deeply upset him. Moved by compassion, Chris started sharing part of his lunch with Ollie. Strangely, Ollie never ate the food on the spot; instead, he grabbed it and darted off.
At first, Chris thought Ollie might be feeding hidden puppies, but he soon realized Ollie was a male dog, making his behavior all the more puzzling. Over time, Ollie grew weaker, his once-shiny coat dulling. Concerned, Chris decided to uncover the mystery.
One day, after handing Ollie a sandwich, Chris followed him. For two hours, the dog led him through winding streets to a rundown neighborhood. Ollie stopped at an abandoned house, squeezing through a hole under the fence and pawing at the front door. Intrigued, Chris climbed over the fence and watched as Ollie placed the sandwich into a small hole he had dug under the door. Moments later, faint barking emerged from inside. Peering through a window, Chris was stunned to see a frail German Shepherd devouring the sandwich.
