For one mother, the longest and most frightening wait of her life finally ended with a phone call she had been desperate to hear.
Her two-year-old son had been found.
And, most importantly, he was safe.
After hours of uncertainty, worry, and searching, those few words brought an overwhelming sense of relief.
Officers, relatives, neighbors, volunteers, and members of the community had all been working toward the same goal: bringing the little boy home.
And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
The Moment She Saw Her Son
When the mother finally saw her child, the fear of the previous hours gave way to something completely different.
He was small and understandably shaken by everything that had happened.

She rushed toward him and held him close.
