DAUGHTER-IN-LAW WAS ACTING MEANLY TOWARDS THE MOTHER-IN-LAW, SO THE OLD WOMAN DECIDED TO TEACH HER A LESSON

Lucy had moved in with her son and daughter-in-law after losing her husband, Ron. Not ready to live alone after her loss, she decided to stay with them until she felt prepared.

Lucy chose to give the rent from her own house to her son, as a gesture of gratitude. Her son, Connor, worked long hours as an IT technician, leaving Lucy alone with her daughter-in-law, Eve, who was a housewife.

Connor suggested that his mother stay on the first floor, saying, “So, you don’t have to worry about your knees and the stairs,” as he carried her luggage.

Initially, everything was great. Eve was incredibly kind and attentive, preparing food, and cleaning dishes, refusing Lucy’s offers to help.

However, as time passed, the dynamics changed, and Lucy found herself doing chores alone, despite her tired, old knees.

A few days before Christmas, Eve, while watching TV, called out to Lucy. “Lucy, after you finish the laundry, please go out and buy groceries for tonight’s dinner and Christmas dinner, too. Nine people are coming over. I’ll give you the money before you leave.”

Lucy was shocked; they used to do the shopping together. But now, Eve was giving orders. Lucy realized that if she stayed longer, she would become her daughter-in-law’s maid, no longer a guest.

Determined to teach Eve a lesson before leaving, Lucy leveraged her experience from growing up in a large family to cook and prepare for many people.
