When 23-year-old Sofia Laurent steps onto the stage, she is never alone. Perched elegantly on her shoulders are two majestic peacocks, their iridescent feathers shimmering under the bright lights. With a simple motion of her hand, they spread their wings, bow, and move in perfect harmony with her. It’s a breathtaking sight—one that took years of patience, love, and unbreakable trust to achieve.
A Passion for the Extraordinary
Sofia grew up surrounded by animals, but birds were always her fascination. “I was drawn to their grace, their intelligence,” she recalls. While most people think of dogs or horses as trainable, she saw something unique in peacocks—their regal presence and deep emotional connection to their caretakers.
She started her journey as a bird trainer at 15, working with smaller species before gradually moving to larger, more challenging birds. When she adopted her first peacock, Orion, she quickly realized that training them was an entirely different challenge.
