A woman shared on Reddit how she and her husband, who married when his daughter Trudi was 22, faced challenges after Trudi and her family moved into their home due to financial difficulties. Trudi, now 36, had always had a strained relationship with her stepmother.
The family opted to let Trudi stay in a separate apartment owned by the stepmother, used previously for short-term rentals, under a lease agreement where no rent was collected to help them save money.
Living together proved difficult as the stepmother found that Trudi didn’t maintain cleanliness in the house, despite her husband’s efforts to do so amidst his exhaustive work schedule. This led to several confrontations, which were not supported by Trudi’s father, causing further strain.
