A late-night emergency at a family home has left a neighborhood shaken and a grieving family waiting for answers after a newborn could not be saved.
Emergency responders were called to the residence after a serious medical incident involving the infant. Neighbors saw emergency vehicles arrive and quickly realized the call was more serious than a routine response.
According to the initial account given to authorities, the baby’s father had been caring for the infant during a nighttime feeding when something went wrong. He reportedly told officials that he was trying to comfort the crying baby when he lost his grip and the infant fell.
He contacted emergency services right away and followed the dispatcher’s instructions while waiting for help to arrive. Despite those efforts, the newborn died.
