But the painting’s journey was turbulent. Stolen during an exhibition, then lost to a clerical error that sold it to a private collector, Prince of Peace remained out of Akiane’s reach for years. Undeterred, she continued to create, traveling to over 30 countries to inspire others through art and spirituality while selling more than 100,000 prints to share her vision.
In 2019, the masterpiece returned when an anonymous collector purchased it for $850,000, pledging to protect it and preserve its legacy. Akiane described the moment she reunited with her painting as “amazing…Love is so powerful. It will always show up on time to people who need it most.”
Today, Prince of Peace is on display at the Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas, allowing audiences to experience the painting that has inspired countless people over nearly two decades. Akiane’s story is a testament to faith, perseverance, and the enduring power of art.
