Abby slumped at the kitchen island, her weariness tangible as tears cascaded down her cheeks. Little Logan, their baby, had been wailing inconsolably for hours, leaving her feeling utterly defeated.
Walter, her husband, entered the room and immediately recognized the anguish etched on Abby’s face. Worried, he approached her, gently placing a hand on her shoulder.
“Oh, honey,” Walter murmured softly. “How long has Logan been crying like this?”
Abby took a trembling breath, her voice thick with emotion. “All day,” she admitted. “I’ve tried everything, Walter. His diaper is clean, he’s been fed, bathed, and burped. But nothing seems to comfort him. I don’t know what else to do.”
Walter’s heart went out to his wife and their inconsolable son. Determined to help, he reached out to Abby. “We’ll figure this out together,” he reassured her. “Let’s see if we can calm him down.”
Grateful for Walter’s support, Abby nodded and allowed him to guide her to Logan’s nursery. The sound of Logan’s cries intensified as they neared, fraying Abby’s nerves even more.
“Hey there, little guy,” Walter cooed upon entering the nursery. “Sounds like you and Mama have had a rough day, huh? Let’s see if Daddy can make things better.”
