Captain Ian Farquhar, a close friend of the king, has sadly passed away at 78.
Ian was a dear friend to King Charles and Queen Camilla for many years. He was also known for his equestrian skills, serving as the Queen Mother’s rider and enhancing his already illustrious name.
A renowned hunter and superb horseman, Ian served with pride in the Queen’s Own Hussars.
The King, who is already dealing with his own cancer diagnosis, is devastated by this loss. The passing of Lord Jacob Rothschild, who was 87 years old, just last week adds to the sorrow.
In 2000, when Prince William was on leave, he dated Ian’s daughter, Rose Farquhar. The young couple enjoyed romantic picnics in the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside.
Ian leased a farmhouse on the Gloucestershire estate of King’s Highgrove for a significant period.
According to Queen Camilla’s first husband, Stephen Parker Bowles, Ian had been quite ill, as revealed to the Daily Mail.
