Barbara explained that they had been considering fertility treatments but had not discussed adoption until they were offered the chance to bring Melissa into their home.

A Star is Born
Melissa Gilbert is best known for her iconic role as Laura “Half-Pint” Ingalls Wilder on the beloved television series Little House on the Prairie, which aired from 1974 to 1983.
In July 2022, she published her memoir, Back to the Prairie, where she reflects on her life’s journey and her current happiness with her family.
