Lauren Alaina, the country singer known for “Road Less Traveled,” has canceled her upcoming shows to grieve the loss of her father.

The former American Idol contestant shared the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing, “I really don’t have words yet.” In her Instagram post on Wednesday, she revealed, “We lost my dad last night, and I really don’t have words yet.”

She went on to inform her fans that she would not be able to perform at her scheduled shows in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte, explaining, “I am going home to be with my family.” Lauren thanked her fans for their “prayers and understanding” during this difficult time.

Following her announcement, many fellow country music stars offered their condolences. Jake Owen wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss, Lauren. Love and strength from my family to you.” MacKenzie Porter commented, “I’m really sorry, sweetheart. We will pray for you and your family.” Martina McBride added, “Sending you so much love.”
