At a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed that more than 54,000 Americans died from fentanyl-related overdoses in just the 12 months leading up to October 2024. According to Gabbard, these deaths were not random tragedies—they were the direct result of coordinated drug cartel activity, much of it internationally backed and deliberately targeting U.S. communities.
“We’re not just losing lives,” Gabbard said. “We’re losing stability. Our cities, our law enforcement agencies, even our national sovereignty are under siege.”
