The story might have ended there, but Dave Hall was determined not to let Larry leave the store without the Surprise Squad covering his groceries.
Originally, Larry had intended to buy only dish soap and candy. However, Dave expressed his gratitude, saying, “You served us. It’s our turn to serve you now.”
With that, Larry was invited to choose anything he desired from the store. His final bill amounted to $278, and he was visibly moved, wiping away tears as Dave and the team took care of the payment.
Larry was overwhelmed by the gesture, sharing, “This is just overwhelming; I’ve been taking care of myself since I was 13.”
