On Wednesday, Green, a representative from Texas, announced his latest push on the House floor, stating, “The movement to impeach the president has begun.”
Green’s impeachment effort follows recent discussions surrounding a controversial foreign policy proposal related to the Gaza region. The plan has sparked debate among lawmakers and international figures, leading to widespread concerns over its implications. Critics argue that the proposal could lead to heightened tensions, while supporters claim it aims to bring stability to the region. This is not the first time Green has pursued impeachment proceedings against Trump. Trump’s first impeachment in 2019 stemmed from allegations regarding Ukraine, where he was accused of pressuring Ukrainian leadership to investigate a political rival. The House charged him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. However, the Senate later acquitted him.
