Abby slumped at the kitchen island, her exhaustion palpable as tears cascaded down her cheeks. Little Logan, their baby, had been crying inconsolably for hours, leaving her feeling utterly defeated.
Walter, her husband, entered the room and immediately noticed the distress etched on Abby’s face. Concerned, he approached her and gently rested a hand on her shoulder.
“Oh, honey,” Walter said softly. “How long has Logan been crying like this?”
Abby released a shaky breath, her voice choked with emotion. “All day,” she confessed. “I’ve tried everything, Walter. His diaper is clean, he’s fed, I’ve bathed and burped him. But nothing seems to soothe him. I don’t know what else to do.”
Walter’s heart went out to his wife and their inconsolable son. Determined to help, he reached out a hand to Abby. “We’ll figure this out together,” he assured her. “Let’s go see if we can’t calm him down.”
Grateful for Walter’s support, Abby nodded and allowed him to lead her to Logan’s nursery. The sound of Logan’s cries grew louder as they approached, adding to Abby’s already frayed nerves.
